Recorded from Lajas Irrigation Canal since 1998-2007. Aquarium trade of guapote tigre is illegal in the country. The species was used for a while to stock ponds in private lands. Introduced by the University of Puerto Rico to stock in private agricultural and industrial ponds (Felix Grana, pers. comm.). |
